I am David Starkey, the owner of this web site and I want to state very clearly that I have the highest respect for judges, law enforcement and our legal system. I believe that no one is above the law and no one is below it. I will however, call it like I see it when something bad is going on. That is why this site is called BadCourt.com. Pawn Shop Sheriff 
For those of you that have been watching any of our local TV stations lately then you have
probably seen our fine sheriff pitching for a Tulsa pawn shop
( Tulsa Gold & Gem ).
Mr. Walton ran on such a upstanding platform that it is a little surprising for some that
he has done a commercial while in uniform putting the backing of the Rogers County Sheriff
Department to this pawn shop. As taxpayers we supply his car and his gas so the question is,
why are we paying for him to drive to Tulsa to do a Tulsa Gold & Gem commercial on taxpayer
money and why would he do such a dumb thing?
This would be like a judge that is in office coming out in their robe and saying, "only do business with this attorney because he is the only honest one". The ethical violation that he has committed is a great one and it puts a very black mark on the Rogers County Sheriff's office. I personally think he should step down as sheriff while this is under investigation and maybe it is time to do an inventory on the gold in the evidence room?

Sheriff Blocks Inmate Mail
The Rogers County Sheriff has been blocking inmate mail which is totally illegal. There have been two full mailings to the inmates in Rogers County Jail that has either been trashed or returned by our pawn shop sheriff. The Rogers County Jail Legal News is a publication for inmates which covers some of the wrongdoings that are going on here in Rogers County and it is provided totally free of charge. The inmate survey that was sent along with this was to see how good or bad a job the public defenders are doing. It was trashed also because they do not want the inmates figuring out that their rights are really being stomped on.
PUBLIC DEFENDERS MUST GO!

The biggest problem Rogers County has with its legal system is the terrible Lawyers that work as public defenders.
I have watched for years as day after day they fail to do their job that they are paid $195,000 to do.
Some of the rules and requirements that they are failing to do is -
1. Rule 3.2 Expediting litigation ( constantly passing cases while their clients sit in jail )
2. Rule 1.1 Competence
3. Rule 1.3 Diligence
4. Rule 1.4 Communication
I put these together since they are not properly meeting with their clients and sometimes see them for the first time when they show up at Arraignment.
These Lawyers are required by contract to meet with their clients no later than 72 hours after the judge appoints them and this has been widely abused.
One other abuse is telling defendants that they cannot represent them if they bond out which is totally false.
You see they get the $195,000 if they represent one person or 1000.
I really could go on for days about all of this but the point is the contract is up for rebid and there is a performance clause that they are failing at and we only have a few days to spread the word to other Attorneys that the OIDS ( public defender ) contract is now open for bidding.
I cannot express how important it is for you to come forward and share your story if you have had a bad experience with the public defenders in Rogers County.

The excuse that a minors public testimony cannot be transcribed is not correct - this was perjured testimony and it shows misconduct of Assistant District Attorney Patrick Abitbal for knowingly putting on known false testimony and misconduct of judge post for allowing known perjured testimony. This is why it is being denied!!
